The Global Plastic Pollution Problem:

  • 8.3 billion tons of plastic waste exist in the natural world
  • 1 million plastic bottles are sold every minute globally
  • 40% of the plastic produced is packaging, used once and discarded
  • Nearly half of all plastic ever manufactured has been made since the year 2000
  • Less than 9% of all plastic is recycled globally

The Ocean’s Plastic Problem

  • 18 million pounds of plastic waste flows into the ocean’s annually
  • By the year 2050 there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish

The Social Good

  • Provide equal opportunity employment, lifting people out of poverty.
  • Employ locals for plant construction/operations, waste plastic collection and sorting.
  • Provide professional development and promotion opportunities within the Company.
  • Become active in improving quality of life for the communities we operate in.
  • Provide opportunities for healthcare, sanitation and education…
  • Conform to and support the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

The New Plastic Economy

“Pyrolysis is an invaluable technology to treat mixed polymer streams, which mechanical recycling technologies cannot handle.”

“If plastics demand follows its current trajectory, global plastics-waste volumes would grow from 260 million tons per year in 2016 to 460 million tons per year by 2030, taking what is already a serious environmental problem to a whole new level. In the face of public outcry about global plastics pollution, the chemical industry is starting to mobilize on this issue. We also believe there are opportunities to build a new and profitable branch of the industry based on recycled plastics, which our research suggests could represent a profit pool of as much as $55 billion a year worldwide by 2030.”

Feedstock Acquisition

First Step in the Circular Economy

2018 - China rejects importation of plastic waste – Project National Sword*

  • Secure feedstock agreements and gate fees for stockpiled waste plastic
  • Partner with local governments and waste handlers to insure consistent supply
  • Partner with landfill operators to remediate landfills of waste plastic
  • Employ locals as sources of points of collection for local waste plastic
  • Partner with NGO’s, private companies and others that are collecting plastic waste from waterways, rivers, oceans and beaches

Today’s Recycling Solution – Pyrolysis…

Pyrolysis is a thermochemical treatment, which can be applied to any organic (carbon based) product. In this treatment, material is exposed to high temperatures and then in the absence of oxygen, goes through a chemical and physical separation into different molecules.

Plastic pyrolysis is a chemical reaction. This reaction involves molecular breakdown of large groups of molecules into smaller groups in the presence of heat. Pyrolysis is also known as thermal cracking. The resulting outputs of “cracking” plastic are: pyrolysis oil, syngas and char.

These valuable products can be used to power generators for energy production, refined into fuels for marine and road quality diesel and activated carbon for water purification…
